1. What we do with your information
If you buy a product or service through our online store, we need to collect some personal information in order to do business, for example recording the sale and your contact details for a warranty use. If you sign-up to our newsletter then we need to record who we are sending it to and the associated email or social media address.
Our online store uses third parties to complete the sale, and we pass on some of your details. For example, we use PayPal as a payment gateway and UPS for shipping. Payment gateways such as Paypal are a separate service with their own privacy statement and we recommend you read these before using their service. Shipping services, naturally will need your name and shipping address and a contact phone number for arranging delivery.
Our online store is hosted by Squarespace Inc and operates in the United States, so whilst we are a Canadian company, your personal details are held on US servers and subject to US law. Similarly, our email servers are hosted in the US.
We explicitly ask for your consent before sending marketing material, for example newsletters, and you are asked to opt in, we do not automatically check sign-up boxes. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
If you purchase a product or service, we assume an implied consent to collect payment, shipping and warranty information.
We may disclose your personal information if we are required to by law, or if you violate our Terms of Service.
We use third party payment gateways to process online sales, primarily Paypal. When you choose checkout in our store you are transferred to the payment gateway's servers. We do not see, hold or store any credit card information. Those third parties have their own privacy and terms of service statements that we recommend you read before use.
5. Website tracking
If our business in acquired or merged with another business, you information may be transferred to the new owners. It may be that the first time you are aware of the sale or merger is a notice on our website.
