Shipping & Returns
1. Inclusive Shipping
As far as we can make it practical, we offer curbside shipping worldwide as part of our pricing. Curbside shipping is to your door or lobby only, we do not deliver inside of your property. If, in our sole opinion, we cannot deliver for free, you have the option of cancelling your order without penalty or agreeing additional shipping costs with us.
Please note that there are locations in the world to which we simply cannot ship, either because of war, civil disturbances, international embargoes etc. We review each order for shipping, and we will let you know if we cannot ship to the supplied delivery address. We also face difficulties in shipping to diplomatic and military addresses. This decision to ship is at our sole discretion. If we cannot ship, you will be refunded at no cost.
Shipping does not include local taxes or customs duties, which are outside of our control.
You may also use your own shippers. Please contact us directly to discuss your requirements.
2, White glove shipping
Where available, we also offer white glove shipping at additional cost. With White glove shipping, we ship to your home, unpack and assemble the product for you. Please let us know when ordering if you require this option.
3. Shipping times
Most of our products are custom orders, or part of limited edition small batch production. This means that there can be a significant time between initial order and shipping.
Because we are making to order, we take full payment on order, and not when we ship. We give estimated shipping times with each product in our store, but these are for illustration purposes only and do not form part of any contract with you. On submission of your order, we will contact you with an up-to-date delivery schedule, and we will keep you informed of progress as the product is manufactured.
The shipping time from our workshop to your door will depend on the available carriers and shipping options available for the product in question. Typically, metal-based products have more shipping options available as wood furniture needs more climate control. White glove shipping is also likely to take longer to organize.
4. Cancellation Policy
Once shipped from our workshop, no order may be cancelled.
Orders of products that are in stock, and not custom made for you, and that have not yet shipped may be cancelled at no charge.
If you do change your mind on a custom order, please tell us quickly as products that are custom made may not be cancelled once the order is placed. If we have not started manufacture, we will cancel the order at no charge.
You may only return faulty or damaged goods.
Please inspect your purchase immediately upon delivery. If there is a problem with your order, contact us within three (3) days of receipt at email@example.com. If, for any reason, you do not get a prompt response to your email, then please call us using the phone number available from our website.
If you receive a damaged, defective or incorrect item, we will work with you to make things right.
Please be aware that furniture is susceptible to damage during transit. We take great care to pack shipments so that they will arrive safely, so be sure to retain the original packing materials, original receipt and all merchandise tags for any item that you wish to return to us. You may have to provide supplementary packing materials if the outer carton has been worn during the original trip out to you.
All returns must be pre-authorized by Objects and Ideas. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org should you need to make a return. In your email please provide:
· Your original order number
· The name the order was placed under
· The product that you are returning
You will be given a return authorization number which you will need to submit with your returned item. Upon authorization, returns should be sent to:

6. Damaged Returns
We endeavor to ensure your package arrives to you safe and intact. Occasionally however, you may receive a product that has been damaged during shipping. In such cases we will make every effort to obtain your replacement as quickly as possible, at no cost to you. In order to satisfy our insurer, damaged goods must be reported within 24 hours of delivery. If damage does occur, please review our policies below for receiving and returning damaged items:
Outside Damage to Package Only:
If you receive a package with obvious damage to the outside of the box or packaging but believe the item inside is intact, please make written note of this with the courier when signing for your package. If no mention is made of external damage, we cannot be responsible for any product damage and will not accept a return or issue a refund.
Damage to Package and Contents:
If a package appears significantly damaged, you may refuse delivery of the item. It will then be returned to the place of origin. Please notify us immediately if this occurs and we will make arrangements for a replacement to be sent to you as soon as possible. PLEASE NOTE: Original product lead times may apply on the replacement product.
Damage to Contents Only:
If your intact package is found to hold damaged contents, DO NOT throw away the original packaging. Please contact us immediately and follow the steps below.
Take photos of damages to items & photos of any damage to package.
Contact us at email@example.com. Please provide your original order number (if applicable), your name (or the name the item was ordered under), and the product you are returning (with photos). You will be given a return authorization number which you may need to submit with your returned item.
Arrangements will be made for replacement of your damaged item at no cost to you. Please note that your original product lead time may apply for a replacement.
We will instruct you on how or if to return the damaged product for replacement or refund
Refunds will only be issued once the original package is received back in our warehouse.
